Marguerite Gardens: My favorite places in Chicago

I visited Marguerite Gardens in Andersonville, Chicago a few weeks ago after having breakfast at The Bongo Room across the street! This is one of my VERY most favorite flower shops I've ever been to! The selection and the color coating made it absolutely magical- I don't think I've ever seen so many varieties in one flower shop at one time! I was thrilled to stumble upon this gem. They charge $20 a stem for King Proteas- OH HOW I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ONE! Would you enjoy visiting a huge flower shop like this one? It smells so fresh and fragrant in there!! xo

A Portrait of Peyton Stewart

Peyton and I have been friends for a few years now- we met through mutual friends in Urbana Champaign, IL. We both live in Chicago now so this was the perfect opportunity for me to finally have her model for me. Aren't her eyes mesmerizing? I haven't even edited them at all and they are so piercing. She is going to art school here in Chicago and she's so fun to hang out with. She even humored me by holding my stolen hydrangeas and eating this beautiful donut courtesy of Glazed and Infused.... let me tell you- the donut was amazing!

My Record Collection | The Paulie Antiques Show

Hey guys! I haven't posted this video on my blog, yet... so I thought I'd share it here, too! Here's all of my records. I actually donated and gave away a few last year before moving to NYC so here's what I kept! Do you have a record player? Tell me about it! I love hearing stories about people's record players and how they acquired them. Mine is my dad's from the 1970's. It's a Juliette! XO

Outfit: You Forgot it in People

Boy oh boy, where to begin? I'm not really sure who I am at the moment- I'm working like crazy at my new job waitressing and it's eating up my days, but they're busy and that's how I like them. When the days creep by slowly- that is like true torture to me. Today is my day off and I *finally* get to relax a bit. I'm going to practice my accordion, meditate, take a long walk outside and sketch a bit. Although I've been going through a lot of anxiety the past week, I can always count on this album by Broken Social Scene to calm me down: take a listen if you wish! How are you guys? XO

Katie Pierce for Paulie Antiques Fall 2013 Studio Look Book in Brooklyn, NY

So it turns out that I am just now posting the Paulie Antiques Fall Look Book from 2013 and hey, it happens. I'm not going to beat myself up too much about it. It was a blast working with Sandra Murphy Recollection & Pepa Loves and using their clothing from their amazing companies. Styling my first ever studio shoot was also really fun and required a lot of planning and organization. When I do my look books outdoors.... it seems to be less work. Working in a studio was such a blessing for me because our photographer, Eric Michael Pearson had his own studio at our very own disposal. I met Katie Pierce at a Psychic Twin concert in Brooklyn and thought she was so sweet and beautiful- so I asked her to be our model. When I scout models- it's pretty funny because I am sometimes shy and sometimes I will just walk right up to the person and lay down a proposal to a girl who has never modeled and is absolutely terrified. Luckily, Katie had some previous experience and was so much fun to boot. My friend Christine Hopkins acted as my assistant stylist which was so fun because when we were both stylists for Impulse Magazine two years ago- I assisted her on her spread in the magazine. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this shoot... it was a truly amazing experience. Also, I thought the music for the look book video should also be Psychic Twin since Katie and I met through Erin, the lead singer. We love you, Erin!!
